Coverage and moving insurance
Coverage comes with every move. You can add extra moving insurance, and your estimate explains how each applies to your move.

Coverage on every move
Coverage comes with every move. Your written estimate explains how it applies to your route and your belongings, so you can read it before you agree.
Extra moving insurance
If you want more protection, for example for valuable items, you can add optional moving insurance. It is offered in your estimate, and you choose whether to include it.
Two liability options under federal rules
For interstate household goods moves, federal rules set two levels of liability for the mover. Full Value Protection is the normal level. Liability is for the replacement value of goods that are lost or damaged, up to the declared value of the shipment.
Released Value Protection is the lower option. It applies only if you waive full value in writing, and it is a lower, per-pound limit set by federal rules and a Surface Transportation Board order. Ask for the limit in writing before you choose.
If something is damaged
Contact support as soon as you notice it, and keep photos and the paperwork from your move. Claims are made in writing and must be filed within the time limits in your bill of lading, so do not wait. Federal rules also require interstate movers to offer an arbitration program for loss and damage disputes.
